Clinical Experience:

During my residency and my work as senior registrar, consultant and assistant professor of pediatric surgery in Assiut University Hospital, I did many kinds of pediatric surgical operations such as:

- Pull through operation for Hirschspring’s disease specially Soave’s procedure.

- Ramstedt’s pyloromyotomy.

- Repair of congenital ingunial hernia and umbilical hernia.

- Orchidopexy for undscended testis.

- Treatment of Exomphalos major and minor.

- Various types of anorectoplasty procedures for anorectal malformation.

- Excision of sacrococcygeal teratoma.

- Splenectomy in cases of congenital hemolytic anaemia.

- Nephrectomy in cases of Wilms tumour.

- Resection anastomosis in cases of intestinal lymphoma (not uncommon in our locality).

- Repair of cleft lip (usually Millard operation).

- Excision of cystic hygroma, thyroglossal cyst and fistula.

- Experience in treatment of hemangioma by cryotherapy, corticosteroids or scierotherapy.

- Experience in ultrasonographic examination.

- Management of cases of neonatal intestinal obstruction.

- Repair of diaphragmatic hernia.

- Pediatric oncology.

 

In addition, teaching of general and pediatric surgery for medical students, house-officers, residents and post-graduate students. Also teaching of students in High Institute of Nursing, Assiut University.
